Ultrasonic Liquid Level Indicator | Portalevel

The Portalevel® is the ultrasonic liquid level indicator, designed and manufactured by Coltraco Limited for checking the content of fire suppression cylinders of CO2, FM200, NOVEC and all other Clean Agent or Inert Gas extinguishing liquids.

Coltraco Limited has been designing such equipment since 1989 and was the first company to use the concept of using ultrasonic technology, as an alternative method to weighing or using radioactive devices to check cylinder content. Since our original design, we have created seven generations of Portalevel units and drawing on this experience has allowed us to create the world leading product of its type worldwide with over 15,000 units in operation in 104 countries.

The Portalevel is the only ultrasonic liquid level indicator to have been awarded full Classification Society approval and has been proven to locate a liquid level with an accuracy of +/- 1.5mm.

Whilst being an accurate and reliable device, the Portalevel also provides significant benefits when compared to traditional methods of checking cylinder content which has helped make ultrasonic devices the industry norm. Weighing cylinders require a larger workforce, much more time and increases the risk to the local environment as the fire suppression system is required to be shut down and each cylinder disconnected from the manifold in order for it to be placed on scales. Not only can the system remain live during testing with ultrasonic devices but there is no need to remove cylinders or adapt the system in any way.
